Konkan Railway police nab Nepal native with drugs

The Konkan Railway police on Friday arrested a native of Nepal, Krishna Bahadur and seized from his possession 920 grams of Charas valued around Rs 92,000.
Acting on a tip off, the personnel attached to the Konkan Railway Police station swooped down on the accused at the KRC foot bridge and recovered the drugs from his possession.
PI Vincy Paes informed that the accused had gone to his native place and might have brought the consignment for sale. In fact, he said that the accused was supposed to deliver the consignment to an unknown person on the foot bridge.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused was working in Anjuna village and might have come to the South given the off season.
The police has booked him under the NDPS Act. PI Paes said the accused would be taken for a police remand for further investigations into the drug seizure case.
