A 20-year-old man from Ponda died, while the pillion rider was seriously injured in a collision between two vehicles at Titan Junction, Cortalim, on Monday morning.
According to Verna Police PI Jivba Dalvi, the accident occurred when deceased Sachin Sutar along with Duttaraj Gajanan Pednekar from Fatorda were proceeding towards Verna Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) on their motorcycle (KA-44-X-4770) towards Margao.
While the motorcycle was crossing the junction to enter Verna IDC, a Maruti Wagon-R car (GA-06-T-1465) rammed against them.
Sutar succumbed to injuries on his admission in a hospital, while Pednekar was admitted with serious injuries.
PI Dalvi further informed that car driver Ramesh Bhandari from Bogda has been arrested under Sections 279, 337, 304 (a) of IPC and was later released on bail.
