PANJIM: The new president of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) will be elected between July-August this year as per the organisational poll schedule announced by Maharashtra MLA and Pradesh Returning Officer Mohan Joshi.
Joshi on Monday told reporters that March 31 is the last date for enrollment of membership and names of members and those eligible to contest organisational elections will be published from April 1 to 15.
Joshi said that in the first phase of election, Block Congress committee members and president will be elected between April 16 and May 31 while, in the second Phase, elections for district Congress committees and its presidents will take place between June 1 and July 20 and in the last phase, PCC President, Vice President, Treasurer and executive committee members will be elected between July 21 and August 20.
Joshi said that in the fourth phase, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) will hold election for its President and other Committees.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar, Leader of the Opposition Digambar Kamat, assistant returning officer Tanveer Khan, media department chairman Amarnath Panjikar and all party candidates were present.
