Babush has good news for ailing forts!

Minister for Archives and Archaeology Babush Monserrate today assured the House that conservation and restoration of all forts in the State would be taken up immediately.
Replying to the cut motions tabled in the assembly on demands of Archives and Archaeology, Monserrate stated that renovation work has already been started on some forts.
“The renovation and restoration of the Chapora Fort will be taken up this year and the government has already made a provision of Rs 50 lakh for the purpose,” he stated.
Monserrate continued, “Work on renovation of the Mormugao Fort is on and 80 per cent of the work has already been completed.” Similarly, he stated, master plan for the Cabo de Rama Fort in Canacona taluka is ready and the work would be taken up soon.
Also, he said, renovation of the Corjuem Fort will also be taken up this year.
