VASCO: The recent decision by the government of allotting marks for students representing their schools at the state and national level sports has left many students of standard XII aggrieved.

Sada who had represented his school and had participated at state and national levels during the academic year was shocked when he was told that he would be allotted only 20 marks for his achievement.
Kochrekar told Herald, displaying his gold medals and certificates that he represented his school in chess and was the gold medallist for two consecutive years i.e. 2011-12 and 2012-13.
Kochrekar who has answered his XII science exam in March this year stated that as per the earlier decision of the government any student representing the school in sports at the state level were allotted 20 marks and 30 marks for those representing their school at the national level, during the board exam.
“I spent one precious month leaving my studies aside to attend the coaching camp organised by the Goa Chess Association and Sports Authority of Goa thinking that I will get 30 marks in my board exam for representing the school at the national level,” said Kochrekar.
This is a great injustice towards students who with a hope of getting 30 marks had represented the school at the national level, said Kochrekar, adding that the government could have implemented its decision from the next academic year as many students like him had represented their school at the national level with a hope of getting 30 marks in their board exam.
