CUNCOLIM: Cuncolim MLA Rajan Naik has asserted that the new party floated by BBSM would not able to split BJP votes in the constituency.
Briefing the press at Cuncolim, Naik said, “I will contest the next election on BJP ticket from Cuncolim constituency; I am confident that my developmental works will make me victorious once again. My opponents — be they anybody– will not harm my prospects.”
He claimed that he has carried out many developmental works in his constituency in the last five years. “Those who accuse me of not carrying out developmental works are either blind or are suffering from jaundice,” he mocked.
“Some BBSM supporters are challenging that they would defeat the BJP. We accept their challenge and are ready to face any candidate,” declared.
“I do not like publicity, but my voters know what I have done in last five years. I am confident that my winning margin will increase in this election. It will benefit BJP if more candidates are in fray,” Naik said.
Admitting that it was difficult to complete all the developmental works he had promised, Naik exuded confidence that his voters would give him one more chance to complete the remaining works.
He informed that the government would shortly take up the work of bypass road from Shirlim to Balli which would be the parallel to the Konkan Railway.
