PONDA: Ponda Police re-arrested Deepashree Sawant, queen-pin in the cash-for-jobs scam on Tuesday, in yet another cheating case, this time for duping a Sanvordem resident

According to Ponda Police, Deepashree was arrested following a complaint filed by Sadanand Virnodkar from Sanvordem. Sadanand alleged that IRB constable Sagar Naik had collected Rs 10 lakh from him on pretext of providing a JE’s post in PWD and failed to do so, thereby cheating him.
After his arrest, Sagar told the police that he handed over the money to Deepashree Sawant and following her involvement in this case, the queen-pin was rearrested by Ponda Police.
It may be recalled that Sagar and Deepashree were arrested following a complaint filed by Trupti Prabhu from Usgao for allegedly cheating her to the tune of Rs 15 lakh on pretext of providing a teacher’s job. Deepashree was also arrested by the Mardol Police based on a complaint filed by WRD Engineer Sandeep Parab, who stated that he collected Rs 3.88 crore from 44 job aspirants and handed over the amount to the queen-pin.
