VALPOI: The main internal road in Satodem village, Valpoi is reported to be in a very bad condition since the last decade. Fed up with the inaction by Nagargao panchayat and Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane, the locals have now threatened to launch a morcha on legislator’s office if the road is not repaired before the Ganesh Chaturthi.
The drivers of the heavy vehicles transporting goods refuse to enter the village on account of the bad road condition and to add to the villagers’ misery, a big tree close to the road poses an obstacle those commuting along route especially heavy vehicles. The village is plunged into darkness at night as there are no streetlights. The locals have been requesting the Nagargao panchayat time and time again to repair the road and cut that tree, but to no avail.
According to villagers, they have informed the panchayat to repair the road and also illuminate the village with streetlights. The locals claim to have informed Valpoi MLA to repair the road but he too seems to be least bothered.
“Whenever there is a function in our village, bus drivers refuse to enter our village with the fear that tyres would get punctured. Besides, we are facing several problems, especially riders, complained a villager.
