Krishna temple burgled for second time
HERALD REPORTER
MARGAO, APRIL 11
The Shree Krishna Temple atop the Cancnamodi hillock at Cuncolim was once again the target of burglars.
For the second time in recent times, unknown thieves effected entry into the temple and managed to lift Rs 2500 cash from the donation box, besides an amplifier and CD player, all valued around Rs 20,500.
Cuncolim police said the burglars lifted the donation box out of the temple and later abandoned the same after looting the cash. Before leaving the premises, the miscreants also lifted away the amplifier, CD player and speakers.
The incident came to light this morning and the same was immediately intimated to the police by the chairman of the Temple Anand Desai.
Cuncolim police are investigating the case. However, the police are yet to detect the burglary that took place in the same Temple last year.
