PANJIM/VALPOI: President of India Droupadi Murmu on Saturday felicitated Rasika Khandeparkar, a sanitation worker from Pissurlem for her exemplary work in the category of waste management-cum-sanitation during the Swachh Sujal Shakti Awards 2023 of the Union Jal Shakti Ministry, in New Delhi.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and Poriem MLA Deviya Rane congratulated Khandeparkar for the award and the hard work put in by her.
“Rasika has made Goa proud and displayed Goa’s commitment towards sanitation and cleanliness,” Sawant tweeted.
The Poriem MLA said that she is proud of Rasika as she is from Pissurlem Panchayat jurisdiction, which is her constituency.
The ‘Swachh Sujal Shakti Samman 2023’, organised by the Ministry of Jal Shakti to honour the women champions of rural water and sanitation sector. This event was organised in the run up to the International Women’s Day to felicitate the exceptional and exemplary work being done at the grassroots level by women in the implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission – Grameen (SBM-G), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain (JSA-CTR).
Total 36 women WASH Champions were conferred with the ‘Swachh Sujal Shakti Samman 2023’ by the President of India and Union Minister of Jal Shakti.
