PORVORIM: State government is in process of formulating a single window system to ease the processing of film shooting permissions and clearances in Goa, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant told House on Friday.
Sawant also said that government is ready to set up Film Studio on public private partnership (PPP) model to encourage local talent.
Chief Minister was speaking during a Motion moved on the Floor of the House to congratulate Akshay Indikar-directed Marathi film “Sthalpuran Chronicle of Space” for being selected for the Berlin Film Festival, where it will compete for the coveted Crystal Bear Award. It is the first Goan film to participate in the category.
Moving the motion, BJP MLA Pravin Zantye demanded that in order to promote Goa as film destination and provide platform for local film productions, it is important that government introduce single-window clearance system.
Responding in positive, Chief Minister said that we are considering starting a single window system for shooting permissions, to ensure that the clearances are granted at ease.
“We also want Goa to be promoted as film destination. We have lot of subsidies and schemes available for local film makers. They should take the benefit and encourage local talent,” he said.
Sawant also agreed to look into the request of NCP MLA Churchill Alemao, who said that films produced in Roman Konkani, should also be granted 50 per cent subsidy.
