PONDA: Water supply to Ponda taluka was restored late Sunday evening after the 750 mm dia pipeline, which was damaged due to the ongoing drilling and digging work for laying the natural gas pipeline, was finally repaired.
The pipeline damage caused water shortage to the entire taluka. The residents, who were forced to undergo hardship for two days, have opposed to the road digging activity late night, which they claimed led to water shortage as well as power outage.
The locals demanded that they be compensated for damage caused to their houses due to flooding.
The villagers demanded that the PWD officials should supervise the digging operations and claimed that the labourers were not accompanied by PWD officials.
