MARGAO, APRIL 14
Chinchinim villagers have opted for VP3 status for property admeasuring over 1000 square meters and VP2 status for land less than 1000 sq meters.
At a meeting held to finalise the Regional Plan, the villagers have mooted a bypass on NH-17 to save residential houses from demolition in view of the proposed expansion of the existing highway.
The villagers have now suggested a 60-meter bypass starting from Village Gate to Diga bandh and to convert the existing highway passing through Dandeavaddo as Major District Road.
Sarpanch Allwyn Antao told Herald that the villagers have proposed to set up composting units in the proposed market complex to tackle the garbage problem.
Another major suggestion mooted by the villagers is acquire a piece of land which can be used to hold exhibitions and fairs. The land in question has been identified behind Mount Mary Convent, the Sarpanch added.
