Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) will be participating in the nation-wide ‘live’ social media campaign being organised by the All India Congress Committee on Thursday, May 28, between 11 am and 2 pm. The campaign aims at voicing the concerns of all those who are in distress due to COVID-19 lockdown. Congress Legislative Party Leader Digambar Kamat, who attended Tuesday’s video conference meeting with AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal along with GPCC President Girish Chodankar, stated that all the MPs, MLAs, GPCC members, frontal organizations of the Congress will participate in the campaign. Kamat added that Congress has demanded that the Centre immediately transfers Rs 10,000 in the account of every citizen who does not have taxable income and that the migrants are transported to their home States immediately and that, they should be employed under MGNREGA Scheme with minimum 200 days’ work. The campaign is being organized as an alternative to public demonstrations, which are presently banned due to the lockdown.
