Goa Miles taxi driver assaulted at Baga

BAGA: The Calangute police have registered an offence against eight persons for forming an unlawful assembly, wrongfully restraining, abusing, threatening with dire consequences and assaulting a taxi driver of Goa Miles.
Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi said that a taxi driver Shamsuddin Kazi, a resident of Macazana, Salcete complained that he is registered on Goa Miles Taxi App and on January 4, he got a notification from a customer requesting for a pick up from a resort at Baga.
Accordingly, when Kazi went to pick up the customer, two taxi drivers wrongfully restrained him and called six other taxi drivers who assaulted him with fist blows and slaps and threatened him with dire consequences. 
Both the accused taxi drivers have been summoned by the police for questioning.
Police have written to the Directorate of transport for cancelation of the taxi permit of both the accused taxi drivers involved in the crime.
