PONDA: The ground at Goa Engineering College (GEC) at Farmagudi pleatau was flooded on Friday, forcing authorities to find ways to drain the water from the area. When asked if any efforts are being initiated to store the rain water for the summer, the Principal of the College M S Krupa Shankar, said they are thinking of a rain water harvesting project with the permission from the government and the CSR scheme of companies. He added that such a project wherein they can store 15,000 litres of water can meet the large water requirements of the college including the hostel, canteen and gardening activities. Currently they meet their additional water requirements through water tankers.
