PANJIM: Senior BJP leader Sadanand Shet Tanawade, who on Sunday was elected unopposed as the new State Unit President, officially took the charge on Monday. He visited former Chief Minister (late) Manohar Parrikar’s Memorial at Miramar to offer his prayers thereafter.
Tanawade, who served as General Secretary for three terms before being elevated to the current post, has assured to support the government to resolve the mining crisis and Mhadei water diversion issue at the earliest.
“Both the matters are before the government and it is making every attempt to resolve the issues in the interest of Goa and the Goans. As party, we will fully support government and I will also take up these issues with the central leadership to resolve them at the earliest,” he said while speaking to reporters at Miramar.
With the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections, Tanawade said all the party leaders are not only working to win the polls but also gearing up to win the 2022 General Assembly elections with majority.
