MARGAO: Newly-elected Chinchinim Sarpanch, Constancio Fernandes, told the Sunday gram sabha that the Panchayat has written a letter to the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation headed by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, to tender the panchayat ghar cum market complex project, estimated to cost more than Rs 15 crore.
He informed that a copy of the letter has also been submitted to the local MLA Benjamin D’Silva for information and cooperation.
The sarpanch explained to the villagers the development works proposed to be taken up by the Panchayat. He also told the members that the gram sabha will not discuss any proposal which does not serve the interests of the public at large.
Constancio later told the media that after taking over as sarpanch, he has prepared estimates for construction of a garden using the Golden Jubilee fund and has started the process to generate revenue.
