Codli workers meet Ravi, submit memorandum calling for early resumption of mining

PONDA: A delegation of Codli mine workers led by their leader Ulhas Naik met Ponda MLA Ravi Naik and submitted a memorandum for early resumption of mining in the State. 
Ulhas said that though the mining companies are paying them salaries, but still the workers are spending sleepless nights. They fear that the companies may retrench them anytime and this could adversely affect their families and children if mining fails to restart. 
He said that the workers have submitted memorandum to the PWD Minister, Power Minister, Shiroda MLA and that the same would be submitted it to the chief minister and other MLAs.
Ravi Naik assured the workers that he would raise the issue in the next Assembly session. He said that Congress has extended its full support to the government to restart mining in the State and since the BJP government is ruling at State and at the Centre, they have to take steps in this regard.
