MAPUSA: The Former Union Law Minister, Ramakant Khalap, criticised both the elected MPs of the State for their failure to deliver stating that in the last five years Goa has had no voice in the parliament either from north or south Goa even though Goans had elected them to the house.
“If the elected MPs remain silent then there is no use of them being elected to the House. Both the elected MPs are not fit to be elected as they have failed to utilise the MPLAD funds effectively. Under the Adarsh Gram Yojana also we have not seen any development undertaken in the villages adopted under this scheme. They have not even raised the issue of resumption of mining in the house,” said Khalap during a press briefing at the North Goa District Congress Office at Mapusa on Saturday.
He further expressed confidence that Congress would emerge victorious in the by polls as well as the Lok Sabha elections.
He strongly condemned the statement made by the former Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar to stop grant in aid to Mandrem College stating that such kind of a statement was totally unacceptable.
