PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) campaign committee member Joe Gomes has criticised the alleged failure of the Economic Offences Cell (EOC) in recovering the duped money and has demanded that more officers be deputed to the EOC for investigating economic scams.
Alleging that all the authorities were hand in glove with the All Brand Promotion advertising company, he said the RTO started fining cars with advertisement stickers, only after the company became defunct and closed down its operations in the state, after duping people’s hard earned money
Informing that Samir Veerani, who is the company official, used fraud documents to open bank accounts, Gomes asked why the authorities did not act, when a local resident Mukundraj Mudras had informed the police about the suspected scam.
Meanwhile, EOC has booked a case against the advertising firm for duping almost 300 investors.
