CHORAO: Sanjay Gawde won the first place in the all Goa road race in the senior category (5 km) organized by Yavak Sang of Chorao which was held at Chorao recently.
Brijesh Kumar (Taleigao) secured second place while Amit Parvar (Corjuvem) finished in third place.
In the junior category, Salvin Fernandes (Chorao) won the first place while Kartik Borkar (Ponda) and Rueua Fernandes (Cansaulim) finished second and third positions respectively. In the open senior category, Sagar Karbotkar, Sarvesh Kubal and Ganesh Madkaikar won the first, second and third places respectively.
In the boys open category, Sohan Vaigankar, Rohan Fernandes, Aidan Fernandes, Viola Fernandes and Parthik Madkaikar won the prizes respectively.
Special prizes were given to Dvnesh Phadte for being the youngest participant while Vishant Borkar received for being the oldest participant in the event. Shabnam Bidler was the only woman participant in senior category.
Social worker Santoshkumar Sawant was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners in the presence of Acting-Sarpanch Diksha Kundaikar and cricketer Vidhur Phadte and other dignitaries.
