PONDA: It’s over a year now, braving sun, rain, and also wild animals, around 45 students from remote villages of Udden and Torla Shiroda have to daily cover 7 km to attend online classes, as there is no mobile network connectivity in the villages.
These students from class 5 to class 12 helplessly need to take the pain to travel travels 3 km to Avdakade Junction and to join their online classes. Students and parents said there is one BSNL tower in the villages or nearby so despite having range there is no Internet connectivity so they have to travel a long way to get the connectivity from Wageli Towar.

The villagers demanded two towers at Pazer Shiroda and at Sonsodo to solve the net connectivity issue and memorandum have been submitted to MLA Shirodkar and BSNL.
BSNL had set up a tower at Chickengal village, which is almost 3.5 km from Udden village but there is no connectivity in the villages of Udden and Torl so the students have to dare all odds to travel in rainy season and attend classes sitting on the road where wild bisons roam around.
They go early morning either walking or parents drop them.
Former ZP Jaydeep Shirodkar said like net problem there is also financial problem for many parents to buy mobile especially parent with two or three children’s. He said government should provide free mobile for students so that they are not deprived of education.
