Kitchen and other waste water is being directly discharged by the restaurants at the Benaulim Beach without any treatment. Gutters and drains have been built with impunity by these establishments to divert water into the sand at night.
This constitutes not only a criminal offence destroying the environment but also creates unhygienic and unsanitary conditions for beach users. Besides, it makes approaching the beach itself very difficult and dangerous.

I would request the panchayat and municipal authorities to immediately take action against such rogue elements including that of not limited to closing them down for a limited period as penalty. As there is so much degradation of our beaches going on.
