SANGUEM: Parish Youth Nuvem emerged victorious in the 14th All Goa Inter Village football tournament, organised by Uguem Rising Club, defeating Uguem Rising 7-6 via tie-breaker, at URC ground, Uguem on Sunday.
In the fast paced match which was attended by a large festive crowd, the crowd was kept on their toes till the end of the regulation time after the match ended in a goalless draw.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Parish Youth Nuvem proved to be better shooters scoring accurately through Ericsson Pereira, Royal Alvares, Stanley D’Mello, Neves Noronha, Mevanne Fernandes and Mefan Coutinho scored while Wilson Martins, Etalio Gomes, Jerico, Leshel, Selling, Joseph Gama and Sani Gomes scored for the runners-up.
The winners pocketed cash prize of Rs 40,000 and trophy while the runners up had to be content with Rs 30000 and a trophy.
Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up.
