Dy Collector gives officials a day’s time to restore roads in Ponda

PONDA: Acting on several complaints from locals with regards to road digging, construction work and sewerage works in the town, Ponda Deputy Collector  Navnath Naik on Thursday gave the authorities a day’s time to restore the roads in Ponda.
Ponda locals have been complaining of the nuisance caused on account of road digging, construction work and sewerage works in the town despite Deputy Collector’s stop work order  before May 15.  
Ponda Deputy Collector  on Thursday called a meeting of officials of the PWD, sewerage, talathis, BDO Prasidh Naik and Joint Mamlatdar Abeer Hede and discussed the problems due to ongoing work. 
Following this direction, many workers were seen engaged in filling the pits and trenches.
Navanath Naik directed the talathis in taluka to conduct survey of trees posing danger to public and property and submit a report to local sarpanchas and to him as well. 
He directed the panchayats to follow up with various departments to ensure these dangerous trees are cut on time. The disaster management meeting was also held.
