PONDA: The Goa Youth Congress protested on Friday in front of the Mardol police station, shouting slogans against the BJP government. They expressed concern that the investigation into the ‘cash-for-job’ scam is not progressing properly, alleging that the police are under pressure from politicians. The protestors demanded that the case be handed over to the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

When the police tried to interrupt the protest, the demonstrators stated that they were not seeking any personal gains but were fighting for the interests of unemployed youth. They questioned how financially disadvantaged individuals could afford to pay for jobs and called for an end to the sale of employment opportunities.
Youth Congress workers burned effigies of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, demanding their resignations. Ricky Bhargava, in charge of the Goa Youth Congress, along with Youth President Mahesh Nadar and other party members, participated in the protest.
Protestors noted that while small-time offenders are being caught, the names of prominent political figures involved in these cases remain undisclosed. They asserted that under the BJP government, chaos has ensued in Goa, and if these cases are to be investigated fairly, they must be handed over to the SIT.
