Celebration of tradition and community at Nostalgia de Caranzalem

Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Caranzalem in collaboration with the parish youth came alive as the parish hosted Nostalgia de Caranzalem. Organized under the guidance of Fr Jonas D’Souza, an inter-ward competition brought parishioners together for a day of joyful celebration.

The event featured a series of engaging games and performances, with each ward tasked with showcasing occupations assigned to them, reflecting the rich tapestry of Goan professions. A special highlight was the debut performance of the youth band, which added a lively and energetic atmosphere to the event.

Sr Bridgit D’Souza from Our Lady of the Rosary Convent graced the occasion as the chief guest, alongside Fr Pio, parish priest, sisters from Our Lady of the Rosary Convent, Dona Paula and sisters from Peace Haven, Caranzalem. Their presence added a spiritual warmth to the gathering, reinforcing the sense of community.

The competition was fierce yet friendly, with Firgoz Waddo emerging as the well-deserved winners. The wards showcased their culinary skills by preparing a variety of traditional Goan sweets. Each ward accumulated points through their games and performances, contributing to the festive spirit and competition.
