PONDA: Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh Convenor Madu Naik and office bearers, while addressing media, urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to set up an additional government medical college and hospital for South Goa on the lines of Goa Medical College, so that downtrodden people from rural area would benefit from it.
Naik said in April he had discussed with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant about the need for a government hospital in the interest of Bahujans.
Naik said a private college and hospital are not affordable to OBC communities and their children and so demanded that a government college and hospital be set up.
He said currently people can’t afford costly treatment in private hospitals. Naik pointed out that the sub district hospital like Ponda has no facilities and there is an urgent need for CT scan and MRI Machines.
