Questions inaction against ‘bogus voters’

PANJIM: The Congress on Tuesday questioned police and the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) for failing to take action on a complaint filed by Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte alleging enrollment of bogus voters in electoral rolls.
Addressing media persons, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) chief spokesperson Sunil Kawthankar said, “Minister has categorically said in his complaint that all the illegal voters are employees of casino and that casino owner is behind this act. Despite this, no action or arrest has been made in the case,” he said.
“This shows that the BJP government is governed by casino lobby. The policies of BJP and its government are decided by the casinos,” he charged.
Kawthankar said the Congress would also approach the CEO and police seeking immediate action in the alleged vote bank system.
