ICSC Paroda in last eight

MARGAO: Immaculate Conception Sports Club, Paroda got the better of Sporting Club of Davorlim 4-1 via the tie-breaker to storm into the quarter-final of the 26th Curtorim Panchayat Cup All-Goa inter-village football tournament, at Curtorim ground, on Monday. There was no score at full time.

Davorlim missed an open chance to score in the 25th minute as Stanley Gomes shot wide from hand-shaking distance.

In the 38th minute, Paroda missed as a powerful shot from Kanchan Kiro sailed over the cross bar. The teams missed number of chances which came their way.

In the tie-breaker, Manesh Oliveira, Drenzil Vaz, Kanchan Kiro and Sezvin Fernandes scored for the winners while Vincent Colaco scored the only goal for Davorlim.

Paroda will now take on the winners of St Rock YC, Calata-Majorda and Raia Sporting Club on August 18.
