PANJIM: The Congress affiliated students union wing has decided to boycott the Goa University elections, scheduled on August 16, if all the 28,000 eligible students are not allowed to vote. Addressing a press conference, National Students Union of India (NSUI) Goa president Ahraz Mulla alleged that the University under the pressure of the BJP has been partial and allowing only the UFRs who are majorly nominated by the faculty to vote.
“The NSUI is strongly against the current election system and will not be contesting if all the 28,000 students are not allowed to vote,” he said. Mulla said that they will press for bringing in transformation in the students election process.
