PANJIM: The State Level Steering Committee (SLC) on the Regional Plan 2021 (RP21) would be meeting on Monday to finalize the guidelines for scrutinizing the fresh public inputs received for rectifying the land plan.
At the first meeting, chaired by the Minister for Town and Country Planning held on April 19, it was decided to notify and implement the land plan taluka wise, so as to fast-track the process. The first taluka is expected to be notified in July.
The committee in-principal decided to freshly identify and mark the forest covers- including notified and private forest areas and operational mining sites while undertaking the rectification of RP 21. It has also resolved to maintain the parameters set for eco-sensitive areas by the Union Ministry for Environment and Forest in the land plan.
The SLC also intends to include all the zonal changes made by the Investment Promotion Board (IPB) in the modified plan.
The department received as many as 5,940 applications providing suggestions and comments for rectifying the land plan. All these applications have been categorized under new settlement in ECO-1, new settlement in non ECO-1, to restore 2001 settlement in ECO-1 and non-ECO-1, rectification of houses, temples, road width, fresh demands, etc.
