A 45-year-old worker from Talematha-Pale was crushed to death, while the truck driver was seriously injured after a mining truck plunged into a 15-metre deep trench at Pale on Friday at about 4.30 pm.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the truck (GA-02-U-6331) driver lost control over the vehicle and plunged into a trench, crushing Parshuram Dudappa Hosmani, who along with two others, were working in the trench.
The other two workers escaped unhurt.
The seriously injured truck driver was rushed to GMC in Bambolim. PSI Ditendra Naik is investigating the case.
