According to Curchorem PI Ravindra Dessai, police received information from local people at about 6.30 pm that the dog had bitten the people near the post office.
When police rushed to the spot, the dog ran away from the post office area to the CADA hall, biting many other people and other dogs along the way.
“On reaching near the CADA hall, the police and the dog squad from Curchorem managed to catch the rabid dog. We will try to catch other dogs also who were bitten by the rabid dog on the way,” informed PI Dessai.
When contacted, staff nurse at Curchorem Primary Health Centre informed
that seven patients with dog bites were brought to the health centre for medical treatment.
