Bangla father charged for raping minor daughter

Ponda Police in a charge-sheet filed before Goa Children’s Court today has accused Bangladesh national father for raping and assaulting his 14-year-old daughter.
45-year old Azad Mia, originally from Bangladesh and currently residing at Curti, Ponda is currently under judicial custody. He is booked under section 376, 323, 354 of Indian Penal Code and 8(2) of Goa Children’s act.
The charge-sheet mentions that the medical examination conducted on the girl has confirmed that she was being raped often and was assaulted at several occasions in the absence of her mother.
“In the absence of my mother, father took me to the bedroom and raped me in April, May and September 2009 by tying my hands and legs to the bed,” the victim has said in her complaint.
Ponda police had registered complaint against the accused on July 31, 2010 and the very same day the accused was also arrested.
Ponda police have examined nine witnesses including victim’s cousin brother and close friend, who have told the investigating officer that the victim had confessed about rape on her several times.
“She did not wanted to go to the police as her father was the sole bread earning member of the family,” the victims is quoted in the charge-sheet. “During the arrest punchanama some abrasions and tooth bite marks were seen on the body of the accused,” charge-sheet stated.
