Former Union Minister of External Affairs & law and Senior Congress Leader Salman Khurshid have emphasized the need for a prompt resolution to the Dual Citizenship and OCI Card issues. Khurshid expressed concern over the delay in settling these matters, attributing the reluctance to the BJP’s stance.
Speaking on the matter, Khurshid stated, “Dual Citizenship and OCI Card issues need to be settled as quickly as possible, but BJP is not willing to do it. We shouldn’t force a choice on the people of Goa; we should facilitate them to make a choice best in their interest.”
Khurshid, critical of the BJP’s governance, pointed out that despite the party ruling both at the Centre and in Goa, the PM Modi-led government has failed to address crucial issues in the state. He raised questions about the handling of matters such as the Mhadei dispute, unemployment concerns, and political reservations for Scheduled Tribes.
“Why did Home Minister Amit Shah not give time to the ST Delegation and met only the Chief Minister of Goa?” questioned Salman Khurshid, highlighting his concerns about the government’s approach to addressing key issues faced by the people of Goa.
