MARGAO: Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho has stated that his priority is to bring in and expand eco-friendly industries in the State.
The senior minister also added that the aim is to help the industries and remove any bottlenecks that may exist so that the processes involved for industries are smoother.
“Instead of asking for permissions from multiple departments, we are working on a single-window clearance mechanism for those industries who want to set up their base in Goa. They can send the same permission to multiple departments. This will help save a lot of time and help the industries,” Godinho said.
He further stated that there are industries that are not yet in Goa like the logistics industry and that the entertainment industry can be expanded too.
“These are green industries. They will not only provide employment to the people but will also boost the local economy. We have seen with IFFI how the entertainment industry can scale. We have seen the need for logistics so that industry too can thrive here,” he added.
Godinho, who is also the Panchayat Minister, also spoke on the controversy surrounding the postponement of the panchayat elections and said the ball is in the court of the State Election Commission (SEC), which has to decide on the date and that the OBC commission too has to complete its study on the matter.
