MARGAO: The Police stations from South Goa booked 3401cases under Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COPTA) till December 4 , 2022.
Maina-Curtorim PI Ravi Dessai said that cases were booked near markets, bars and restaurants, eateries, outside hotels , bus stands, outside railway stations and so on. He said that his police station has booked 263 cases under the above act and the drive is on.
According to the information, out of 3401 the highest number of 505 and 428 were booked by the Vasco Railway Police and Margao Police respectively while 273 and 232 were booked by Fatorda and Cuncolim police respectively, 155 were booked by Colva police.
