VASCO: Vishant Gaude was declared as the Champion of Champions at the Murgao Shree 2017 1st All Goa Bodybuilding Championship, organised by Murgao Boys, at Sada, on Saturday.
The event was conducted by Goa Bodybuilding and Fitness Association under the rules and regulations of Indian Bodybuilders Federation (IBBF) recognised by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Rahul Virdikar of Royal Gym, Ambaji won the Best Poser award while Ganesh Gaunder of Tripod Gym, Taleigao won the Most Promising Bodybuilder award.
This Championship saw a record break participation of 93 bodybuilders from Goa. The winners were awarded cash prizes along with Medals and certificates. Total Rs. 1,50000/- of cash prizes were distributed among the winners. The crowd waited till midnight and cheered the bodybuilders.
The following bodybuilders were selected for Team Goa to participate in Mr India Senior National Bodybuilding Championship to be held at Gurgaon Haryana from March 2 to 4. Ganesh Rajput, Suresh Swami, Pradeep Kolvenkar, Rupesh Naik, Dhanu Bogati, Vishant Gaude, Vidhyesh Kavlekar, Rushikesh Naik, Suresh Shirodkar, Rohit Pednekar, Dalesh Surlekar, Akash Naik, Joel Gonsalves, Ganesh Gaunder and Rahul Virdikar.
Officials and judges panel included GBBFA President Sanjay Patil and others –Viraj Arabekar, Ramesh Ghadi, Vishnu Uskaiker, Satya Naik, Ravi Dessai, Santosh Mapsekar, Machindra Jalmi, Shweta Bhatia and Gaurish Kamat.
Results:- In 55kg group: 1-Ganesh Rajput (Kings Gym, Margao), 2-Rohit Pednekar (Norberts Gym), 3-Gauresh Gawas (Ultimate Fitness, Porvorim), 4-Iranna Acharya (Kings Gym, Margao) and 5-Ramesh Tari (V Fitness Marcel).
In 60kg group: Dalesh Surlekar (Pitbull Gym, St Cruz), Suresh Swami (Tripod Gym, Taleigao), Dhaniram Thakur (Chiranjivee Gym, Ponda), Satish Kunkolkar (Norberts Gym) and Rajat Mapsekar (Tripod Gym, Taleigao).
In 65kg group: Ganesh Gaunder (Tripod Gym, Taleigao), Pradeep Kolvenkar (Neura Gym, Tiswadi), Laxmikant Bhomkar (Norberts Gym), Shubham Gauns (SAG Curchorem) and Zaheer Shaikh (Powerup Gym, Mapusa).
In 70kg group: Rupesh Naik (Chiranjivee Gym, Ponda), Dhanu Bogati (Norberts Gym), (Johny Colaco (UFC Gym, Margao), Arshad Khan (Pitbull Gym, St Cruz) and Riston Raikar (Royal Gym, Ambaji).
In 75kg group: Vishant Gaude (Chiranjivee Gym, Ponda), Rahul Virdikar (Royal Gym, Ambaji), Bhupesh Gaad (Chiranjivee Gym, Ponda), Pratosh Pirankar (Hotel La Paz Gym, Vasco) and Shubankar Kudnekar (Hotel La Paz Gym, Vasco)
In 75+ kg group: Joel Gonsalves (ABS Fitness Gym, Chichinim), Suresh Shirodkar (Norberts Gym), Tariq Mohammad (Tripod Gym, Taleigao), Rushab Phadte (Chiranjivee Gym, Ponda) and Avinash Shetye (Hotel La Paz Gym, Vasco).
