GSPCB chairman Jose Manuel Noronha said the monitoring station will be installed at Kadamba bus stand, to obtain live updates on seven different pollutants in the air, especially during the tourist season.
“This will measure air pollutants like PM5, PM10, ozone, ammonia and will provide update on wind speed, wind directions, etc,” he said.
The installation of the station is part of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) scheme, and the station will be set up on a 50-50 sharing basis by the State and CPCB.
