After completing Mapusa Tar bridge, roads leading from the bridge to Mapusa market have been left unattended by the concerned authority despite repeated calls by the concerned citizens, endangering lives of particularly the two-wheeler riders.
These roads are uneven and bumpy. The public have been demanding since long to hot-mix carpet them. What was done was just patch work before the monsoons and then it washed away in the heavy rains, opening up the potholes causing inconvenience to the vehicular traffic.
We do not blame the contractors but those in between inviting the tenders for hot-mix carpet and demanding commission and doing only patch work. This illicit practice must stop and the authority in-charge of the work must respect dignity and responsibility to do service to humanity.
