The bandh road of St Cruz village as seen in the picture appears clean and smooth naturally beautified by fields and straight row of coconut and other trees having small chapel of Chuentlo Khuris. However, the stretch witnesses garbage strewn all along its sides and the road gets washed away by the seasonal heavy monsoons.
It is a pity to see school children, old men and women even impaired physically disabled walking to and fro right from starting point of bandh area till the Church and to the St Cruz Higher Secondary School near the market junction, irrespective of whether it’s hot summer and rains despite being unsafe post sunset without street lights, for want of transport facilities.
Request all concerned authorities to take immediate steps to put an end by seeking action through the Panchayat and provide transport facilities to villagers of bandh area of St Cruz. Request the Social Welfare Department, Government of Goa under to provide facilities to students under the Bal Rath Yojana or coordinate with private transport mini buses owners for travel facilities for the villagers.
