RAIA: Ponda Footballers booked the final berth defeating hosts Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, 5-4, via tie-breaker after 1-1 draw in the semi-final of 24th Bro Elaulio Vaz memorial football tournament played at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, on Saturday.
Royston Vaz opened the scoreline for Ponda Footballers in the 15th minute of play, while Francisco Andrade equalised for DBO in the 30+1 minutes of play. Both goals came from a penalty in the regulation time. In the deceive penalty kick that followed Ponda Footballers netted through Dadapeer Patil, Shawn Colaco, Monzilo Pereira and Prajwal Ghadi, while for DBO, Rahul Sharma, Velito Miranda and Francisco Andrade were on target.
