State Election Committee Chief Dr Sanjay Goel (IAS) on Thursday reiterated the importance of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive in Goa, saying it will ensure that only eligible voters are included in the revised electoral roll. He added that names of those without valid documents or those who have taken foreign citizenship will be removed. Praising the SIR model implemented in Bihar, Goel said not a single formal complaint has been filed by voters there in the past 30 days, which he believes reflects the genuineness and transparency of the process carried out with the help of local BLOs.
