Panjim Police have registered an FIR against Vaishnavi B.V., daughter of Vasuki B.T. and a resident of Mala, along with Rahul Jadhav, for allegedly cheating investors of ₹5,95,400 through a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme involving “ORIS coins.”
According to the complaint, the accused duo allegedly lured the victims by promising high returns and dividends on investments in the digital currency. Police said the complainants were misled into parting with their money based on false assurances of substantial profits.
Investigators have issued formal notices to both Vaishnavi and Rahul, directing them to appear for questioning as part of the ongoing probe. Authorities are also examining transaction records and communications to determine the full extent of the alleged scam.
The case adds to a growing number of cryptocurrency-related frauds reported in the state, prompting police to reiterate caution against schemes offering unrealistic returns.
