Goa Activist Swapnesh Sherlekar Granted Anticipatory Bail in Case Over Alleged Offensive Video

The North Goa Additional Sessions Court has granted anticipatory bail to activist Swapnesh Sherlekar in a case filed by Panjim Police on September 29. Sherlekar was booked for allegedly outraging religious feelings by making certain remarks about BJP leaders and Navratri celebrations in a video that circulated on social media.

The court’s order offers Sherlekar protection from arrest as the investigation continues. Panjim Police had initiated the case under sections related to promoting enmity and deliberate acts intended to offend religious sentiments.
