The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully executed an emergency medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) of a 62-year-old Ukrainian national who suffered a heart attack aboard a merchant vessel off the Goa coast on Friday, December 13. According to officials, Coast Guard Ship C-420 was deployed for an emergency medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) after a distress call was received from the Malta-flagged merchant vessel MV Interasia Am plify, which was operating off the Goa coastline. Responding prompt ly, the ICG coordinated the evac uation and safely transferred the patient for urgent medical treat ment ashore. The timely action by the Coast Guard ensured that the patient received critical care at the earliest, highlighting the force’s high level of operational readiness and professionalism in maritime emergency response.
