Valpoi FC hold Goan Warriors, PYA Divar thrash Amaravati SC

MAPUSA/PANJIM/RAIA: Valpoi FC came from a goal down to hold Goan Warriors to a 1-1 draw in the Goa Football Association Division II League Bardez Zone match played at Sirsaim ground, on Monday.
Goan Warriors played gallantly and went into the breather with a goal cushion. Alvito Dias kept his cool to score in the 44th minute from the penalty spot 1-0.
Valpoi FC came with renewed ideas and managed to level terms in the 53rd minute from the boots of Sridhar Chari 1-1.
Earlier, Piedade Youth Association, Divar, demolished Amaravati Sports Club, Amona, 9-0 in the Ilhas Zone match played at the government football ground, Santa Cruz.
Piedade Youth Association started the match on a positive note and had total control over the game with good short passes and attacking the rival defence time and again.
Nikhil Bhomkar of Piedade Youth Association had the first look at the rival goal by netting in, in the 10th minute.
Piedade Youth Association with quick moves and perfect passes scored two more goals. Vishret Palhat doubled the lead in the 12th minute and Aditya Vaigankar increased the tally in the 17th minute, 3-0. At lemon break, Piedade Youth Association were leading 3-0.
Post resumption, Amaravati Sports Club regrouped with renewed ideas and tried to make inroads in the rival citadel in search of goals but in vain.
Thereafter, Piedade Youth Association kept attacking the rival goal and raining goals in the 19th, 33th, 59th, 64th, 71st and 83rd minute through the boots of Vishvet Palkar, Anish Naik (brace), Bhavesh Bhomkar, Sahil Diwadkar and Vishvet Palkar respectively.
United Club of Utorda continued their fine form with a commanding 4-2 win over Chicalim Sports Club in the Mormugao Zone match played at the Utorda ground, on Monday.
The match was evenly poised at halftime with the scoreline reading 1-1. However, UC Utorda came back stronger in the second half, displaying renewed energy and tactical discipline.
Meislein Barretto led the charge with a brilliant brace, while Sherwan Rodrigues and Savio Cardozo added a goal each to seal the win for the home side. For Chicalim Sports Club, Ganesh Thangavel and Mohammad Shaikh found the net.
At Cansaulim ground, Rising Star Sports and Cultural Club pipped United Youth Club of Bogmola by a solitary goal scored by Mohammad Sadiq Muula in the first session.
