Assam Police have uncovered a significant terror network operating in the state and arrested 11 individuals believed to be associated with a Bangladesh-based extremist organisation. The breakthrough comes amid heightened vigilance by India’s security and intelligence agencies over potential terror activity in the Northeast, particularly in Assam.
Those arrested have been identified as Nasim Uddin alias Najimuddin alias Tamim (24), Junab Ali (38), Afrahim Hussain (24), Mizanur Rehman (46), Sultan Mehmud (40), Md Siddique Ali (46), Rasidul Aalam (28), Mahibul Khan (25), Sharuk Hussain (22), Md Dilbar Razak (26) and Jagir Miah (33).

According to officials, the operation followed intelligence inputs from central agencies indicating suspicious activity linked to the Imam Mahmuder Kafila (IMK) module. Police teams acted on the alerts, conducting targeted raids that led to the arrests.
